LEARNING/PLAY ROOMS

Toddlers (SPROUTS)

Toddlers are rapidly developing and learning about the world around them. At this stage, we focus on building strong, trusting relationships with each child, guiding them through the process of sharing, exploring, and becoming more independent. We aim to nurture resilience by promoting respect for others, the environment, and personal belongings, while encouraging the development of key social and language skills.

Our approach is tailored to each child's unique needs, interests, and abilities, with age-appropriate activities designed to foster growth in areas such as communication, social interaction, and problem-solving. Through activities like independent eating, arts and crafts, shape sorting, and sensory play, we help children develop both cognitive and physical skills, while encouraging their creativity and curiosity.

As toddlers become more confident, they begin to develop stronger social connections, playing alongside peers and learning essential skills such as turn-taking, sharing, and decision-making. We work closely with families to support children in their social development, including separation from parents and the cultivation of friendships.

This critical period in a child’s development is supported by our dedicated educators, who provide a secure and nurturing environment where toddlers can explore, discover, and experiment with confidence. As they navigate new challenges, we guide them through the process of becoming more independent and improving their communication skills, always with the reassurance of familiar faces and a supportive setting.

Preschool (SAPLINGS)

Preschool Room Overview

The preschool room serves as a vital transition for children aged 3-4 years, including those attending non-funded kindergarten days. Led by Miss Jodine, this small group is provided with a nurturing environment that supports their physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development. Educators work in close collaboration with the preschool program to create a rich, engaging curriculum focused on language, literacy, artistic expression, sustainability, and natural environments.

In this room, children are often in the process of toilet training, with support from staff, and many are gradually moving away from afternoon naps. For those who don’t sleep, quiet activities like story tapes and books are offered to help them relax and prepare for the afternoon’s activities.

Transition to Kindergarten

The transition from preschool to the Funded Kindergarten Room is a natural progression, where children are excited to begin preparing for school.

Kindergarten Room Overview

The Kindergarten Room, for children aged 4-5 years, offers a Government Funded Kindergarten program led by Miss Jodine (Bachelor of Teaching). Situated within a long-day-care setting, it provides flexibility to tailor kindergarten hours according to family needs.

In partnership with educators, Miss Jodine creates a stimulating, child-led environment focused on language, literacy, creative expression, and social development. Children engage in a wide range of activities—both planned and spontaneous—that foster positive relationships, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills. The curriculum also includes exposure to music, physical activity, and technology to provide a comprehensive learning experience.

Life After Kindergarten

The Kindergarten Room is the final stage of your child’s early education with us. Our goal is to ensure children are fully prepared for their school journey. If needed, we are happy to assist with the transition, including connecting with your child’s future teacher. We also invite graduates back to share their growth and achievements in their school uniforms.
